Everyone—regardless of religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or any form of identity—should be able to travel and present their research and insights in every corner of the globe. The US Supreme Court’s decision regarding the travel ban runs counter to values the International David Foster Wallace Society attempts to promote and maintain. Studying the literature of authors who warned of the perils of such divisive politics is needed now more than ever. We want to reaffirm our commitment to being a truly international society, one that is open to anyone who wishes to discuss and explore Wallace’s life and works. We will continue to work to be as inclusive as possible, and endeavor to work with those in our community who this decision directly targets and affects. If you encounter problems while attempting to book travel to any function we are directly or indirectly involved with, please let us know via our email@example.com email address.
